fastgreenman Playful tunes for your late-night college party. I may have graduated 16 years ago but these jams make me feel young. "So let's get fucked up." Favorite track: Campfire Song.

I got boxes of notes that I wrote but don't read I got intros of songs that I play but don't sing I got so many cushions and so many dreams that I don't even know where to sleep well I went to college and learned some big words about sovereignty forsaken for the concept of worth meanwhile my kid cousin's got three little girls he's a god to them I assure So I'll do what I can To be who I should I'll do all the things to make me look good I'll never quite be The person I could But I made it pretty far for today because success isn't measured in money or fame it's in how much you live without feeling too tame I was told all of this on a Tuesday morning in a subsidized apartment building my friends are my friends because we're vain and we're scared and we're constantly forgetting to remember we're here but we're in it together and that's all that I care when life is a joke and death is a dare So we'll do what we can To be who we should We'll do all the things to make us look good We'll never quite be The people we could But we made it pretty far for today

The game's over, I think we won; there's a party going on out at Terrell's Farm. Could you pick me up, I'm already drunk but I'll get you whiskey if you bring some 7-up. We can drive around for awhile if you want, hell there ain't no hurry getting where you'll end up. Yeah, small town living can't offer you much until you look back and see where you came from. There's some graduates drinking beers out back by the fire pit. Just watching the burn as they sit and reminisce. There's some pick-ups pulled back, a tail bed huddle, yeah them country boys will never leave them trucks. They love where they are so goddamn much, man, they'll never know love like where you're from. And there's some ambitious drinking going on in the kitchen. That's the part of the home that you really start missing... when you're leaving. Well my ride will leave without telling us none, she knows there ain't no love like where you're from. She'll take off and go chasing the sun because there ain't no love like where you're from. We're all free to do whatever we want because there ain't no love like where you're from. So get out there and find you some fun because there ain't no love like where you're from. It's a good place to be from a place to be known a place to have grown Yeah, it's a good place to be from a place to call home a place where no matter what you do, you're never alone Well the girl that I came with is sipping whiskey on the front porch and the girl that I came for is smoking spliffs in the back and the girl that I'll be kissing is just dancing in the kitchen, yeah she's living like she don't know where the hell she's living at. And Terrell's got some sophomore trying something in the bathroom and Burnie's double-fisting just to save himself some time. We only got three hours until we all got to drive home, eat a bowl of Lucky Charms and kiss our mom's goodnight. Well, it's a good place to be from.

When I was 16 years old on the corner of hope and desperation to be on my own, I had my mother's car and my father's credit card getting beers at the Quik Stop #4, when the clerk asked me for some form of ID and then laughed and said, 'this one's on me. that was a hell of a catch you made the other night, you boys are gonna be one hell of a team." Life was just the way it was Life was just the way it was After dinner I'll meet up with a couple of friends and we'll get high in a truck with Radiohead, on a back country road where I tried to have sex but I was too drunk to start and too scared to end, and the weed we would smoke ain't the same as today, it's like shit on your boot and stepping in hay, it was hard, it was harsh, with seeds and with stems but the escape it was good because it came from within. Life was just the way it was Life was just the way it was Getting high ain't the same as it was When life was just the way that it was Grandpa met Grandma when she was just 15 He said, "my Yellow Rose, you are the best thing I have seen!" He got a job, he praised God and then they got married Oh, Love, it ain't the same as it was Take me back to the smaller days When you never had to know a thing Take me down to all the fewer ways when you didn't weigh every way you take with the weight you make

Well let's get fucked up Not cause I want to Just because it is the only thing that I know I can do Let's make some love Not cause I want you Just because I need to know that my loving life ain't through Well there are tons of drugs and tons of girls and tons of places in this world and from where I'm drinking they all look the same. All I want is all I know and all I know is an easy home but there's no going back the way I came. So let's get fucked up Not cause we need to Just because I trust you enough to have one night of truth Let's make some friends It's nice to meet you If you let me talk about myself then I'll listen to you Yeah, all I need is all I see and all I see is all I dream, but I can dream for days within a day. So I'll do my best to bide my time, dancing on this thinning line, knowing that one day I'm gonna change. For tonight Don't worry how Let's get fucked up and we'll all be here now

Play me one more campfire country-side singing song I don't wanna go and face my dreams just yet So if you play me one more song Hell, I'd love to sing along 'til that fire she goes out all on her own Well life can bring you down and them dreams can take you deeper, in the way that you always gotta wake from them But if I could never sleep, darling this is where I'd be Watching the flames rising high 'til I'm safe within them Well we all wanna be the people we are when we're alone And we all wanna feel like there's somewhere out there that we belong So give me a quiet group of friends, a couple of beers and a fire pit And we can stare into the flame until our mind goes blind within Yeah, play me one more campfire country-side singing song I don't wanna go and face my dreams just yet So if you play me one more song Hell, I'd love to sing along 'til that fire, she goes out all on her own And them beasts, they'll be singing owwowwoww owwowwowwoww All night long I understand boys but there ain't nothing we can do I understand but there ain't nothing we can do...
